This month Sharp Tudhope welcomed Raman Toor back to the firm as a Law Clerk.
Raman was the inaugural recipient of the Sharp Tudhope Scholarship in 2022, receiving $10,000 to support her legal studies. Since then, she has completed her law degree at the University of Waikato’s Tauranga campus and returned to the firm for a summer clerkship in 2024, gaining experience across all of our practice areas.
Supported by mentors throughout her studies, Raman developed a strong understanding of legal practice while completing her degree. Four years after receiving the scholarship, she has come full circle and is now beginning her legal career with Sharp Tudhope.

Raman says:
“It’s great to begin my legal career at Sharp Tudhope. The scholarship gave me the stability to really focus on university and make the most of it. During my clerkship I got to work closely with Matthew and the property team, and that’s when I realised property law was the area I wanted to pursue. I’m really glad to be back.”
Raman’s journey reflects what the Sharp Tudhope Scholarship was designed to support, helping local students turn ambition into opportunity.
Applications for the 2026 Sharp Tudhope Scholarship open on 3 August. The scholarship is open to Western Bay of Plenty students in their final year of secondary school who plan to study law at a New Zealand university. It includes a $10,000.00 contribution toward university fees, mentoring from the Sharp Tudhope team, and paid summer work experience after second year.
