Benji Crossley

Benji helps people, organisations and communities make confident decisions.

His career has taken him from professional sport and international event delivery to legal practice, governance and community leadership. Before joining Sharp Tudhope, Benji spent more than a decade working in sports administration in New Zealand, the United Kingdom and internationally, including involvement in some of the game’s biggest events. That experience taught him the importance of relationships, clear communication and practical decision-making; skills that continue to shape the way he advises clients today.

Benji joined Sharp Tudhope in 2019 and practises in the areas of property, trusts, wills and estate administration. He enjoys helping clients navigate significant milestones and challenges, providing practical advice that is tailored to their individual circumstances and focused on achieving outcomes in the real world.

Benji believes the best legal advice starts with understanding the people involved. His clients value his approachable manner, ability to explain complex issues in plain language and commitment to building long-term relationships based on trust.

Outside the office, Benji is deeply involved in governance and community organisations across the Bay of Plenty. His governance experience, combined with his legal practice, allows him to bring a unique perspective when advising trusts, incorporated societies, community groups and family organisations.

Benji is also a regular contributor to the Sportsfreak website, where he writes about sport, leadership, community and the stories that connect people and organisations. His interest in writing reflects a broader passion for understanding what makes communities thrive and helping tell the stories that bring people together.

Whether he is advising clients, sitting around a board table, volunteering in the community or writing about the organisations that shape our lives, Benji’s focus remains the same: helping people move forward with confidence and creating outcomes that endure.
