Sharp Tudhope Welcomes Associate Chrissy Tarrant to the Property Team

Welcome Chrissy

We’re pleased to welcome Chrissy Tarrant to Sharp Tudhope’s property team as an Associate. With experience spanning both private practice and the public sector, Chrissy brings deep legal expertise and a people-first approach to every matter she handles.

Why Sharp Tudhope Lawyers?

For Chrissy, joining a well-established firm with deep community ties was a major draw. “Joining an institutional firm that has been around a long time really excites me,” she says. “Sharp Tudhope has such a strong reputation in Tauranga, and I’m looking forward to being part of a team that’s well-established yet forward-thinking. There’s something reassuring about stepping into a place that has such deep roots in the community.”

What she brings to the team

Chrissy’s recent years advising on complex property matters in the public sector have given her a unique perspective. She’s developed a strong grasp of both the legal frameworks and the practical realities that clients face, particularly in high-pressure situations.

But what really sets Chrissy apart is her approach. “I prioritise connecting with people to understand their aspirations and what’s most important to them,” she explains. “Property matters can carry both stress and meaning for clients, so I always aim to get the best possible result while maintaining a sense of connection throughout the process.”

It’s that combination of technical skill and genuine care that caught the attention of partners Brooke Courtney and Hamish Murray, and it’s what makes her a natural fit for our team.

A return to private practice

After beginning her career in a boutique law firm and then working in-house for local government, Chrissy is excited to return to private practice.

“Moving back into that space feels like a really natural next step,” she says. “After a couple of years working in-house, I’m looking forward to the variety and pace of private practice again, and to working more closely with clients.”

Life outside the office

When she’s not immersed in property law, Chrissy enjoys staying active—you might find her hiking, swimming, or working on her longboard skills since moving to the Bay in 2023. She’s also passionate about cooking and spending time with her large extended family.

Looking ahead

We’re thrilled to have Chrissy on board and look forward to the expertise and energy she brings to our property team. If you’d like to get in touch with Chrissy, you can reach her here.

Welcome to Sharp Tudhope, Chrissy!
