Annual Scholarship for Bay of Plenty Secondary students

Sharp Tudhope are delighted to offer an annual scholarship to students in the Western Bay of Plenty region keen to explore a career in law.

The scholarship will provide both financial assistance and mentoring and will provide one student with a $10,000 contribution towards their University fees along with a high level of mentoring.  The recipient will be matched with a mentor from Sharp Tudhope who will be available to support the student during their studies.

Additionally, the recipient will be provided with paid work experience during the summer break after their second year of study.

Who should apply?

Sharp Tudhope is a law firm that values our people our clients and the community we live in.  We strongly believe that positive outcomes can be achieved when these three factors come together.

We encourage you to apply if you are:

  • A well-rounded individual
  • someone who already demonstrates strong leadership skills
  • someone who has demonstrated commitment to contributing to the community they live and work in
  • a current Western Bay of Plenty secondary school student
  • genuinely interested in a career as a lawyer

Applications for 2025 will open in early August.

Ava Dickison – awarded 2024

Ava’s application impressed us with her commitment to her studies, leadership, and community. Her hard work shines through in her academic excellence, her dedication to sports, and her strong Māori pride. Balancing school, work, and family, she’s shown great resilience and truly embodies the values we admire.  Ava starts her studies at the University of Auckland in 2025.

Katelyn Bedford – awarded 2023

Katelyn attended ACG where she was Head Girl and also worked part-time as a swim instructor. She is now studying at Victoria University.

Ramanpreet Toor – awarded 2022

Raman migrated to NZ from India at age 11 with her family. Raman speaks an impressive 3 languages (Hindi, Punjabi and English) and is excelling in her studies at the University of Waikato.
