Eric was born in Calabasas, California but raised in Tauranga. He attended Bethlehem College for High School and the University of Otago where he completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Economics.
He is a competitive Beach Volleyball athlete and in his free time he enjoys travelling and hiking.
